OSWEGO, NY – Helping to make this summer’s MASH Camp at Oswego Hospital successful was the healthcare facility’s Auxiliary which provided program funding.
During the two-day camp held in August, the students had the opportunity to learn first-hand about careers in the healthcare field.
The 19 participating eighth and ninth grade students took part in rotations that included the hospital’s laboratory, medical imaging and pharmacy departments, where they took part in hands-on learning activities.
A program highlight was the students being taught how to suture by members of the hospital’s surgery center staff.
Oswego Hospital hosts the MASH Camp program each summer. MASH Camp is coordinated by the Central New York Area Health Education Center.
