Oswego Kartway’s Fall Frenzy 200 Postponed until October 17

OSWEGO, NY – With a high risk of heavy rains forecasted through the entire weekend in central New York, Oswego Kartway officials have decided to postpone the third annual Fall Frenzy 200 Championships until October 17.

More than an inch of rain is forecast in the area tomorrow, with rains expected to move in as early as the overnight.

“It is not our usual policy to postpone events early, but several different forecasters and weather models are calling for the same thing Saturday,” said Oswego Kartway promoter, Dan Kapuscinski.  “We have teams looking to travel in from as far north as Canada, west as Buffalo, and east as Albany for this third annual event.  It is not fair to them or any of our local racers to prolong this any further than it needs to be.  We will come back better than ever on October 17, with an event that will cap off all of the big fall karting shows in the area.  It will be a true Fall Frenzy.”

Once again a guaranteed winner’s share of $1,000 will be up for grabs between the Stock Heavy 100 and the Clone Heavy 100 at the Kartway’s Fall Frenzy 200 on October 17.

The winner of the Stock Heavy and Clone Heavy mains will earn a guaranteed winner’s share of $500 a piece, plus other contingencies and lap monies, including the already published 70% entry fee benchmark to be paid to either the top five or top three finishers depending on the number of entries.

With that said, the winner of each main event is likely to walk away with at least $750 before any earned lap money or other contingencies are paid.

A total of $400 in other contingencies will also be paid on October 17.

Gioia Signs of Oswego has come on board to sponsor the $100 Halfway Leader Award for the Stock Heavy 100, while Total Seal will sponsor the Stock Heavy 100 Fast Time Award in time trials.

GJP of Oswego will be the sponsor of the Clone Heavy 100 Halfway Leader Award, with another $100 sponsored by Bosco’s Market to be posted for the Fast Time Award in Clone Heavy time trials.

All other weekly Kartway divisions will also be in action racing for trophies from JB Sign Co.

Time trials will set the order for the Clone and Stock Heavy 100s. A total of 10 karts will transfer through time trials with the remaining two starters coming from one or two B-mains. No more than 12 karts will start either of the 100 lap main events.

All non-money events will draw for starting position in heat races with the main event lined up straight up from the heat finishes.

Entry fees for the Stock Heavy 100 and Clone Heavy 100 will be the same in 2014, with This year’s entry fee will also include a pit pass for the Fall Frenzy 200.

The Stock Heavy 100 and Clone Heavy 100 will each have an Oswego Kartway member entry fee of $50.  Non-member fee for each race will be $60.

Both divisions will again have a 70% cash payout based on the number of entries. If there are 20 or more entries the top 5 finishers will be paid. If there are 19 or fewer, the top 3 will receive a payout.

Lap sponsorships will again be made available in 2015.  $1,000 in lap money was generated in 2014.

The Fall Frenzy 200 will follow all weekly Oswego Kartway tech rules. The Kartway’s rulebook is available at www.oswegokartway.com. All divisions will be required to run Burris tires.  Entrants in the Stock Heavy 100 and Clone Heavy 100 must be at least 15 years of age.

Oswego Kartway will post an afternoon rain date for this event on October 18.
