Oswego Kartway’s Justin Lamb Memorial to Crown 2016 Bullring Track Champions

OSWEGO, NY – The annual running of the Justin Lamb Memorial this Friday at Oswego Kartway will officially crown the Bullring’s 2016 track champions, as the regular season comes to a close.

Drivers in 14 different divisions will clinch track championship titles on Friday night, with several classes coming down to the bitter end in their race for a coveted Kartway championship jacket.

One of those tight classes is the Senior Blue Clone division with feature winners Jake Holmes and David Hackett Jr. separated by only one championship point heading into Friday’s action.

Holmes and Hackett each have one feature win on the season, with Holmes charging hard in recent weeks to catch Hackett in the race for the championship.

Trailing Holmes and Hackett by 30 points is Justin Pier.  Devon Tonkin and Robert Philips are the current top five runners in the Senior Blue Clone division.

Another junior division with a close championship race is the Junior Purple Clone class which currently sees Logan Crisafulli with a 23-point edge on Hunter Hollenbeck in the championship race.

Crisafulli has more wins than any other driver in Junior Purple this season but Hollenbeck’s consistency has kept him close in the late stages of the game.  Kyle Devendorf, Madison Myers, and TJ Clayton fill the top five positions in Purple.

Several senior divisions have close battles in their championship bids including Stock Medium as Tom Perrin leads Zach Mooney by a slim 6-point margin.

John Palmieri leads John Trenca, Seth Perrin, and Hunter Lawton by only 26 points in Clone Light.

The closest of all divisions is Clone Medium as Trevor Bellinger has managed to pull himself into a tie with longtime point leader Dave Demling. Behind Demling and Bellinger sits Thomas Montgomery, only 12 points out of the championship lead.

Oswego Kartway returns to action this Friday with racing at 7:30 p.m.

As always spectators are welcome to come to the Kartway and enjoy the racing action.  A full service concession stand is open, with limited bleacher seating. Fans are encouraged to bring their vehicle and park along the racing surface for a great view of the action. Admission for fans is only $5 per car load.

Kartway events run May through September on most Friday nights, culminating with the Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on Saturday, September 24.
