Oswego Man Charged In Campus Incident

OSWEGO, NY – SUNY Oswego University Police charged Michael W. Decare, 54, of 10 Gregory St., Oswego, with two felonies following an investigation into an incident in Funnelle Hall.

Decare faces charges of third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree attempted grand larceny.

He is scheduled to appear tonight (July 14) in Oswego Town Court.

He is accused of dismantling a generator on the ninth floor of the residence hall June 20 and moving parts containing copper to a lot behind Laker Hall on the southern edge of campus.

The generator was valued at $10,000, police said.
