Oswego Opera to Present Dido and Aeneas

OSWEGO – Oswego Opera will present Purcell’s Baroque masterpiece Dido and Aeneas on April 22 and 23, at 7:30 p.m., in the Great Hall of the Church of the Resurrection, 120 W. Fifth St.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.

Featured performers will be soprano Amanda Joseph, in the role of Dido, and tenor Todd Graber as Aeneas. Other singers include Elisabeth Kisselstein, Julia Ebner, Angela Russell, and Claire Beshures.

The production will also feature the StateSIngers, the elite choral group from SUNY Oswego directed by Dr. Mihoko Tsutsumi, as well as dances choreographed by Dr. Ligia Pinheiro, a Baroque specialist. Artistic Director Juan Francisco La Manna will conduct.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at river’s end bookstore and at Wayne Drugs, or at the door.
