Oswego Schools Seek Audit Committee Volunteers

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City School District Board of Education is seeking assistance from the community.

To continue compliance with the New York State Comptroller’s Five Point Plan, the Oswego City School District is seeking community members interested in volunteering to assist the district to serve on the District’s Audit Committee.

Every school district in New York State is required to have a District Audit Committee.

This committee makes recommendations for External and Internal Auditors; review, examine and discuss fiscal reports; conduct risk assessment reviews; oversee the Internal audit function and review corrective action plans and assist with implementation.

The District Audit Committee consists of four community members and one member of the Board of Education.

The Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools are seeking volunteers to serve on this committee. Anyone interested in serving should submit a letter of interest to William Foley, District Clerk, and mail it to 120 E. First Street, Oswego, N.Y. 13126.

The deadline for receiving the letter is July 15.
