Lake Ontario report
According to Capt. Andy Bliss of Chasin’ Tail Adventures:
Fishing has been phenomenal! Kings can be found from 120-350 feet of water and they are eating everything. Spoons, flies, meat – pick your favorite style and go catch fish. My best have been A-TOM-MIK meat rigs behind Stinger flashers and Oki slashers. Stingray sized spoons have been taking plenty of kings with a bonus steelhead or two each trip. NBK, UV gator, Carbon 14, angry bird and gold tux have all been working well.

Monday we had a great morning on the water. After Sunday’s blowoff day, we weren’t sure what to expect. We went to one of our usual deep water spots that produces fish. It paid off. We had bites the whole trip. Had many fish come off but still managed to box a group of nice salmon. A young man on our trip got two nice kings, his first Lake Ontario fish ever.
Oswego River report:
With all of the rain here and the surrounding areas received over the weekend the water flow jumped to 12,300 cfs. Today it has settle back to 7,800 cfs. It has been very low for a period of time so hopefully this will also increase the fish activity. Most areas along the river are accessible but along the East and West River Walks are good places to try. Look for walleye with stickbaits and jigs and crayfish and tube jigs are suggested for bass.

Salmon River report:
One lucky angler had the run to himself on Monday and he reported a decent day with the smallies, even noting an overall increase in their size compared to what he’s seen over the last couple weeks. It seems the cooler temperatures may have even helped the fish become less lethargic! Some much needed rain moved into the area on Saturday and areas just south of Pulaski (Brewerton) received over FOUR inches of rain over the weekend, but water flows remain at 185 cfs from the dam and 273 cfs at Pineville.
Oneida Lake report:
With cooler temperatures and some rainfall over the weekend, anglers found an active bite when conditions were good. Walleye are being taken in both shallow and out in deeper water – 20-35 feet. Trolling and jigging are working well. Bass are active in shallow water with stickbaits and jigs working well and pickerel can also be found in the shallows.
Sandy Pond report:
We have received a break in the 90 degree hot weather and we received some rainfall over the weekend. Activity typically slows down this time of year on the pond with the weed growth but anglers are finding some bass along the weed beds using spinnerbaits and rubber worms. Walleye are taking stickbaits and jigs and there have been a few pike reported.
