Lake Ontario report:
There has been some good lake trout and brown trout fishing this week. Lakers in the 18-20 lb. range along with several browns including a really nice one weighing in at 13 lbs. were reported. Bass season opens tomorrow so look in shallow water using tube jigs and crankbaits.
According to Strike Zone Charters:
Wednesday was a good day on the water. We boxed a limit of lake trout and a steelie. We had five other bites that did not end up in the cooler after we switched up and fished for salmon and steelies. Yesterday we had a 4 person limit of lake trout and 3 steelhead hit the deck. We also lost an adult king on a wire dipsey. Riggers, leadcore and divers all got bites.
Oswego River report:
The water flow is currently at 964 CFS. Anglers continue to find some walleye action using stickbaits and jigs. A reminder that bass season opens tomorrow.

Salmon River report:
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
We had a total of 5 guests Wednesday and each reported fair to good success catching smallmouth bass. Long nose gar and carp are present in the lower end of the run although they weren’t targeted by our guests today. One surprise was the appearance of an Atlantic salmon. Unfortunately the fish was not healthy and the angler tried his best to revive it. It did swim off but we’re not sure if it recovered. Yesterday we had half a dozen guests who all reported getting into a few bass. The bite wasn’t quite as good as Wednesday but close and a few larger bass were reported at 3-4 lbs. The flow is running at 185 CFS at the dam and 244 CFS at Pineville.
Oneida Lake report:
Anglers this week found calm water and temperatures reaching the mid to high 80s. Walleye were active in 25-35 feet of water with bucktail jigs tipped with a nightcrawler and blade baits working well. Anglers were also finding a decent perch bite. Just a reminder that bass season opens tomorrow and bass have been active in shallow water.
Sandy Pond report:
Bass season opens on Saturday so look along the weed beds using spinnerbaits and rubber worms. Anglers are continuing to find some walleye activity using stickbaits and jigs.
