Lake Ontario report:
There were mixed reports over the weekend. Some anglers found a slower bite with the warm temperatures and calm water. A few brown trout were taken in up to about 60 feet of water. Other anglers worked the deeper water for steelhead and king salmon with some success. Meat rigs and Michigan Stinger spoons worked well
Bass season opened on Saturday so look in shallow water using tube jigs and crankbaits.
According to Capt. Troy Creasy of High Adventure Sportfishing:
We have had some warm days and calm water and although the fishing had been a bit slower the end of last week, we did find a few nice ones! Sunday we found a very good brown trout bite.
According to Strike Zone Charters:
We left the lakers alone last Friday and just concentrated on bait over deeper water for steelies and salmon. We didn’t really find too much but our sports did manage to land three really nice steelhead and two smaller 2 year-old kings.

The big browns are here! We took 8 over 10 lbs. in the last 2 days. If you’re looking for a wall hanger now is a great time!
Oswego River report:
The water flow is currently at 1110 CFS. Anglers continue to find some walleye action using stickbaits and jigs. Bass season opened on Saturday with crayfish a suggested bait to try.

Salmon River report:
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
Most likely due to the heat, there has not been much activity on the river over the last couple of days. We are expected to get a little break beginning Wednesday with temperatures around 80 degrees for the next few days.
Anglers have been finding some smallmouth bass along the river. The flow is running at 185 CFS at the dam and 240 CFS at Pineville.
Oneida Lake report:
The same weather pattern continued over the weekend with a bit of a cool down likely on Wednesday. Anglers found a walleye bite in 25-35 feet of water and also out in deeper depths over 45 feet. Anglers this week found calm water and temperatures reaching the mid to high 80s. Walleye were active in 25-35 feet of water with bucktail jigs tipped with a nightcrawler and blade baits working well. Anglers were also finding a decent perch bite. Just a reminder that bass season has opened and they have been active in shallow water.
Sandy Pond report:
Bass season opened Saturday so look along the weed beds using spinnerbaits and rubber worms. Anglers are continuing to find some walleye activity using stickbaits and jigs.
