Oswego’s Owen Benjamin hosting Martin Scorsese Award Ceremony

Martin Scorsese will receive the Cinematic Imagery Award at the 18th annual Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Awards on Feb. 8.

The ceremony, set to take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, will be hosted by standup comedian, from Oswego, Owen Benjamin.

Scorsese took home a long-awaited Oscar in 2006 for directing “The Departed” in 2006; his additional eight nominations from the Academy include those for “Raging Bull,” “Gangs of New York,” “The Aviator” and, most recently, “Hugo.” His latest pic, is“The Wolf of Wall Street.”

In addition to the contributions Scorsese has made through his films, he will be celebrated for founding the Film Foundation and the World Cinema Project, two non-profit organizations dedicated to the preservation, restoration and protection of film.
