Pair Arrested In Connection With Armed Robbery


On 4/15/12 at 11:30 a.m., Shawn M. Guppy, 19, of 8 Lock St., Apt. 1, Phoenix, NY, was arrested for Robbery, First Degree, a class B felony; Conspiracy, Fourth Degree, a class E felony; Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor; Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor; and Making a False Punishable Statement, stemming from the investigation into a robbery that occurred at the FasTrac convenience store located on SR 264 in the Town of Schroeppel.

Mr. Guppy was arraigned before Town of Schroeppel Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bail bond.

He is scheduled to return to court on 4/18/12.

Also arrested in the incident was Raymond M. Luis Jr., 16, of 60 N. Seventh St., Fulton, for his participation in the robbery.

Mr. Luis was charged with Robbery, First Degree, a class B felony; Conspiracy, Fourth Degree, a class E felony; Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor; Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor; and Making a False Punishable Statement.

Arraigned before Town of Schroeppel Court, Mr. Luis was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to return to court on 5/02/12.

Reportedly, Mr. Guppy and Mr. Luis conspired to rob the convenience store and used a knife in a threatening manner during the incident that occurred at approximately 2:43 a.m.

Members of the NYS Police, US Border Patrol, Fulton City Police Department and Village of Phoenix Police Departments assisted in the investigation, which remains open at this time.

On 04/15/2012 members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery complaint at the FasTrac gas station located at 234 State Route 264 in the Town of Schroeppel.

Members of the New York State Police, Fulton City Police, Village of Phoenix Police and United States Border Patrol also responded to assist.

As a result of the investigation, two males were arrested on multiple charges including Robbery in the first degree. Arrested were: Shawn M. Guppy (DOB 04/13/1993) of 8 Lock St., Phoenix and a 16-year-old.

The incident remains under investigation.
