OSWEGO– There is a lot to say about our friend Buck. Where to begin?
Buck is very attentive to his humans. He always wants to know what you’re up to and will follow you around the house. When you’re upset or crying, he’ll quietly scooch close to you to comfort and calm you (and definitely lick your face). Buck wants to help you get dressed in the morning too. He’ll take clothes off your hangars and sometimes suggests which pair of shoes you should wear.
He loves his man-cave (also known as his crate) and will go in with his favorite blankie when he needs some rest, but he does like to be little spoon in bed too. Buck responds well to verbal praise and is very food motivated. His favorite toy is the Round Flying Disc (don’t call it a Frisbee or you’ll see him bounce off the walls with excitement); and he’s very good at catching discs in mid-air. He’s also a fan of stuffies, balls, bones and sticks.
As a Golden Retriever, he’s very easy to read and has a myriad of expressions. He is very cooperative at the groomer’s and at the vet. Buck has been trained at Certified K-9 with a training collar, but doesn’t need to use it all the time. He’s also been trained on a wireless electronic fence system, but he knows how to find the gaps (he’s just too smart!).
Buck is slightly overweight but he’s been working on a new exercise program with his personal trainer (also known as his foster dad). He currently has an itchy skin issue that is also being addressed while in our care. Buck is otherwise very healthy.
Buck is 3 years old, microchipped, neutered and vaccinated. The adoption fee is $150.
If you are interested in adopting, you can download our Adoption Application at tinyurl.com/oswego-humane-app; OR if you might even consider becoming a temporary foster caregiver, we would be excited (and pay all the bills!). You can email your completed application and any questions to [email protected]!
