Hecate: Pet of the Week

OSWEGO  – Some cats grow old. Hecate appears to have simply decided not to.

At 15 years young, this beautiful silver tabby still carries herself with surprising confidence, curiosity, and charm. While she’s still adjusting to new surroundings, Hecate has wasted little time exploring her kingdom, investigating furniture, and proving that age is just a number.

Named after the ancient Greek goddess of witchcraft, moonlight, and crossroads, Hecate seems to possess a little magic of her own. One moment she’s quietly observing from a safe spot, and the next she’s striding confidently across the room, purring and chatting as if she’s lived there forever.

Hecate is wonderfully affectionate. She comes when called, almost like a dog, and loves spending time with her people. While being picked up leaves her looking a bit unsure of what to do with all four legs, she’s perfectly happy to stroll over and allow herself to be scooped onto a welcoming lap for cuddle time.

This sweet girl is eating well, drinking well, and has excellent litter box habits. She’s surprisingly mobile, jumps onto furniture without hesitation, and doesn’t seem particularly interested in acting her age. She enjoys catnip, adores kicker toys, and maintains an ongoing conversation with her humans through cheerful commentary and abundant purrs.

What Hecate seems to want most is simple: a comfortable home, a cozy lap, a little catnip, and someone to appreciate the delightful combination of wisdom, affection, and personality she brings to every room. Hecate may be a senior, but she’s far from slowing down. She’s simply mastered the art of living well.
