FULTON, NY – On July 1, the Oswego County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Fulton City Police Department, conducted an operation targeting the possession and sale of heroin within the city of Fulton.
The investigation centered on Christopher L. Kane, 27, of 102 Britton Place, North Syracuse NY.
At approximately 7:35 p.m., Kane was stopped as he was operating his vehicle in the area of West Second and Beech streets in the city of Fulton.
Drug Task Force investigators reportedly located and seized a total of 38 bags of heroin, valued at approximately $760.
It is alleged that Kane had just sold ten of those bags of heroin to a passenger in his vehicle.
That passenger had been picked up by Kane approximately one block from the location of the stop.
As a result of the investigation, Kane was arrested and criminally charged as follows:
Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree – Class B Felony
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, with intent to sell – Class B Felony
Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia – Class A Misdemeanor – 2 counts
Kane was arraigned and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.
He is scheduled to return to Fulton City Court on Wednesday (July 15), at 9 a.m.
Further arrests and charges are possible at a later date.
The Oswego County Drug Task Force is comprised of members from the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, United States Border Patrol, NYS University Police at Oswego, Fulton City Police Department and Oswego City Police Department.
