Oswego County Sheriff’s Office 08/05/2008

On 7/30/08 at 3:30 p.m., Edward J. Rodriguez, Jr., 19, of 1654 CR 4, Central Square, NY, was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (suspended in the Town of Mexico); Reckless Driving; Speed Over the State Speed Limit; and Failure to Obey a Police Officer stemming from an incident that occurred on 7/26/08 at approximately 2:45 p.m.  Mr. Rodriguez, operating a motorcycle, reportedly pulled quickly out of his driveway onto CR 4 in the Town of Palermo causing a patrol vehicle to swerve into the oncoming lane.  The motorcycle reportedly locked its brakes and slid to a stop before entering into the path of the patrol vehicle.  The motorcyclist continued to drive westbound on CR 4 two vehicles behind the patrol unit, driving first on one wheel, then passing the vehicle driving behind the patrol unit.  Responding to activated emergency lights, the bike pulled into a driveway.  As the officer exited his vehicle and approached the cyclist, he fled, accelerating across the yard through a ditch reportedly waving as he sped away eastbound on CR 4.  Further investigation identified Mr. Rodriguez as being the cyclist and he was subsequently charged on 7/30/08.   Released on tickets he is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Palermo Court on 8/18/08.

On 7/31/08 at 9:49 p.m., Cy D. Rayder, 24, of PO Box 99,County Route 23, Amboy, NY, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (license revoked four times), and Insufficient Lights following a traffic stop after he was observed driving westbound on SR 69 in the Town of Parish with no plate lamp.  Mr. Rayder was released on tickets returnable to Town of Parish Court on 8/12/08.

On 8/04/08 at 3:21 a.m., Nickole N. Schultz, 19, of 624 Maroney Rd., Red Creek, NY, was arrested for two counts of Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after she allegedly pumped gas amounting to $43.15 at the Village Market in Hannibal and drove off without paying for it, an incident that occurred at approximately 1:27 p.m. on 7/27/08 and for pumping gas amounting to $29.94 at the Pit Stop Gas Station in the Town of Granby on 7/28/08 and leaving without paying for it.  She reportedly taped paper over her front and rear license plates before pumping the gas at both stations.  Ms. Schultz was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer one count before Town of Hannibal Court on 8/12/08 and the other count before Town of Granby Court on 8/11/08.

On 8/04/08 at 5:09 p.m., Steven D. Hoage, 18, of 410 CR 22A, Sandy Creek, NY, was arrested based on a bench warrant issued by Town of Volney Court, charging him with Criminal Mischief, Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor.  Mr. Hoage was arraigned before the Hon. Patricia Kerfien, Town of Volney Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $85 cash or $150 bail bond.  He is scheduled to return to court on 8/11/08.
