On 5/26/08, David F. Wiley, 24, of 744 CR 6, Lot A65, Pennellville, NY, was operating a 1998 Ford westbound on CR 12 in the Town of Schroeppel at 12:14 p.m. when he lost control of his car at the intersection of Oneida River Road causing it to leave the roadway. go into a ditch, and strike a tree. The incident reportedly occurred when he swerved off the road after reacting to an oncoming vehicle. Unsafe speed and unsafe lane changing appear to have been contributing factors in the incident. Mr. Wiley was ticketed for Failed to Keep Right.On 5/27/08, Daniel F. LaFave, 75, of 197 Klocks Corners Road, Oswego, NY, was driving eastbound on SR 104 in the Town of New Haven at 12:33 p.m. when he reportedly ran over a portable stop sign and road cones with his 2000 Chevrolet suburban. The incident occurred 1/10 of a mile west of CR 51, reportedly not seeing a flagman in the road. Mr. LaFave was ticketed for Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent and Failed to Comply with the Lawful Order of a Flagman.

On 5/27/08, Frank A. Guelli, 3rd, 18, of PO Box 2094, Oswego, NY, was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban westbound on SR 104 in the Town of New Haven at 4:58 p.m. when the front driver’s side tire reportedly broke off the vehicle as he rounded a curve in the road 4/10 of a mile east of Hasto Drive. The vehicle went off the opposite side of the road and rolled over twice, knocking down a mile marker post and a road sign depicting arrows pointing that the road curves to the right. Mr. Guelli, the sole occupant, was transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital.

On 5/28/08, John J. Leavens, 19, of 956 Middle Road, Lot 21W, Oswego, NY, was arrested at 10:09 p.m. for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (Learner’s Permit suspended on 5/18/08 for failing to pay a fine in Fulton City Court), following the investigation into a car-deer accident that occurred on Gray Road in the Town of Minetto. Mr. Leavens was released on a ticket returnable to Town of Minetto Court on 6/12/08.

On 5/30/08 at 7:10 a.m., Brandon R. Tracy, 22, of 13991 Cosgrove Road, Sterling, NY, was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Second Degree (suspended 3 times on 3 dates for failing to pay fines in Minoa and Fulton in 2/07 and failing to appear in the Town of Volney on 5/06); Unlicensed Operator (license expired in 6/07); and Speed in Zone following a traffic stop on SR 3 in the Town of Volney. Mr. Tracy was arraigned before Town of Volney Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court on 6/02/08.

On 5/30/08 at 8:12 p.m., Kyle W. Bice, 21, of 234 Main Street, Richland, NY, was driving eastbound on SR 104B in the Town of New Haven when a License Plate Reader targeted his vehicle. A subsequent traffic stop found Mr. Bice to be operating with a suspended registration. He was subsequently ticketed for Operation While Registration Suspended and Failure to Produce an Insurance ID card. Mr. Bice is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of New Haven Court on 6/12/08.

On 5/31/08 at 2:45 a.m., Jennifer A. Seabury, 23, of 179 Kingdom Road, Oswego, NY, was driving northbound on SR 104 in the Town of Scriba when she was observed throwing a cigarette out of the driver’s side window. A subsequent traffic stop led to her being charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (suspended on 3/12/08 for failure to pay driver responsibility assessment), and Threw/Deposited Refuse on a Highway. Released on traffic tickets, Ms. Seabury is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Scriba Court on 6/19/08.

On 5/31/08, Kyle C. Hilton, 21, of 93 E. Fifth St., Oswego, NY, was arrested at 3:54 a.m. based on a warrant issued by the Hon. Kenneth Adkins, Town of Scriba Court, charging him with Criminal Mischief, Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor, after being detained by the Oswego Police and turned over to a member of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office. The charge stems from a domestic incident that occurred on 5/19/08 during which he allegedly punched out the window of a vehicle belonging to the victim of the incident. Mr. Hilton was arraigned before Judge Adkins and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 6/05/08 to answer the charge.

On 6/02/08 at 3:00 a.m., Ernesto Hernandez, 36, of 116 Second Avenue, Manhattan, NY, was arrested on a warrant out of New York City charging him with Robbery, Second Degree, a class C felony, after he was turned over to a member of the Sheriff’s Office, first being detained by a member of the Border Patrol stationed in Oswego. Mr. Hernandez was arraigned before Town of Scriba Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to reappear before Town of Scriba Court on 7/10/08.
