Premier Living Suites, a student housing complex for SUNY Oswego students, is filled
up for this coming fall and is now wait listing for the 2014-15 school year.
Property manager Naomi Himes has been signing leases with students since last October, around the time that construction of the building began.
“Many of our future tenants have shared how exciting it is to see the building they
imagined come to life and how they cannot wait for move-in day in August” said Himes.
The modular construction allowed the building to be set in just one week; since then, the
focus has mostly been on the basement floor that includes a movie theater, dance studio,
fitness center, computer lab, study lounge, recreation area, gaming room and so much
Wireless internet and cable can be accessed throughout the building and is included
in the package.
“Students attend the college to get an education, and we want to facilitate that focus by
providing everything they will need for success” said co-owner Greg Furlong.
The complex includes 18 four-bedroom suite-styled apartments featuring an eat-in
kitchen, two bathrooms per apartment, a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a dining room
table set, couches, flat screen TVs, a full-sized bed, desk, six-foot bedroom closets with double hanging racks and a large balcony complete with a patio set.
Tenants will also be provided with a semester care package containing goodies and cleaning products when they move in. The only items tenants will need to bring are bedding, cooking utensils and personal items.
“Being a part of this community, it is really important to my brother and I that we give
back as much as we can to make Oswego an even better place to live; a place that these
students may want to continue residing in even after graduation, using their education to
further benefit our community” said co-owner Patrick Furlong.
The Furlongs and Himes are currently working with local Oswego businesses like Mark’s
Pizzeria, Friendly’s, Cheap Seats Sports Bar, Lighthouse Lanes, Paul’s Big M,
Integrative Healing Spa, Kraftee’s, Subway and more in the creation of their discount
card that will be offered to all of their tenants in support of local business.
They are also working with the Red Cross in sponsoring a blood drive at the Premier Living Suites Building this Halloween.
