FULTON, NY – On June 9 in the 11 a.m. worship hour, the members of the Roamin ‘Catholic Choir, directed by Dolores Walrath, and the members of the First United Chancel Choir, directed by Burton Phillips, will combine for Music Sunday at First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St.
The service will also include the United Voices Quartet and instrumental performance by Dolores Walrath and June Dillon, First United Church organist.
Selected choral anthems will include: “Come on Children Let’s Sing,” A Traditional Spiritual / Arranged by Linda Twine; “O Happy Day,” words and music by Edwin R. Hawkins / arranged. by Kirby Shaw; “Come Down Lord,” words and music by Stan Pethel; and, “Shine, Jesus Shine,” words and music by Graham Kendrick / arranged by Mark Hayes.
The congregation and choirs will sing the great twentieth century hymn, “When In Our Music God Is Glorified,” by Fred Pratt Green.
The United Voices Quartet will present three of their favorite gospel song selections.
The community is welcome to attend this service and enjoy the wonderful witness for God’s creative love that these combined choirs will present.
First United Church is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches, USA and the Presbyterian Church (USA).
The congregation is active in the greater Fulton community through the Greater Fulton Area Council of Christian Churches and many other avenues of sharing.
The outreach of the congregation includes the Open Doors Neighborhood Center, an effort to tie the congregation with the needs and aspirations of the larger community.
