Rochester hands Oswego State women’s basketball team its first loss

Rochester, N.Y. – The Oswego State women’s basketball team dropped its first game of the 2013-14 campaign with a 79-53 loss at the hands of host University of Rochester on Tuesday night.

With the loss, the Lakers are now 3-1 on the year.

Oswego was led by guard Jenn Robbins who led all scorers with 19 points, shooting 7-for-17 from the field including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.

Backcourt mate Taylor Sorell was nearly perfect from the floor, missing just one shot (4-for-5). The sophomore was perfect from the 3-point line, making both of her attempts.

Heather Hebert missed double-digits by just one point, scoring nine while grabbing a team-high six rebounds. The forward also led the team with two steals.

Rochester never trailed in the game, scoring the contest’s first seven points.

The Lakers will return to action at 6 p.m. on December 6 when Plattsburgh comes to Max Ziel Gymnasium for White Out Weekend.
