FULTON, NY – At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Dave Bullard introduced Mary Ellen Chesbro, agricultural manager, NYS State Fair.
Mary Ellen displayed an animated, highly detailed three-part power point presentation which included the history of the fair, present day fair and the future of the fair.
The NYS State Fair began in 1841 and was the first in the nation offering concessions, midway, entertainment and agriculture.
The fair has been through many changes regarding financial issues, new buildings as well as many name changes.
Presently, there is an emphasis on education and the aim is to be affordable fun for the whole family.
For the future expect a new midway and special rates among other things.
The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s.
