OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego High School Buc boys’ varsity volleyball team is the Section III Class A champion.
This was the first time the boys’ volleyball team has captured the Section III title.

On Wednesday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School the top two seeded teams clashed for the sectional crown. Oswego and Baldwinsville squared off for the third time this year and once again Oswego came away with the victory.
The Bucs moved to 15-1 on the year and clash with Section IV representative Horseheads on Saturday at high noon on the Jamesville-DeWitt High School gym floor.
Oswego faced a very scrappy Bees squad as the Bucs won the first game 25-23. OHS appeared to be in control throughout this one, but B’ville simply would not go away quietly.
In the second game the Bucs chalked up a 25-19 victory, but in the third Oswego simply appeared to be out of synch as B’ville gained a decisive 25-16 win.
The final game was a nailbiter with neither team ever to gain momentum, but the Bucs came home with a title clinching 25-20 victory.
The members of the championship team are Aaron Baxter, Kevin Carpentier, Josh Costo, Tom Dillon, Josh Ewig, Jeremy Galvin, Dylan Lavner, Dan O’Brien, Ryan Patrick, Justin Peterson, Brennan Richardson, Connor Riley, Mike Thompson, Josh Carney, Zach Gillard, Logan Krass and Tyree Varner along with coach Mike Shea.

Dear Proud Mom,
Myself, Austin, Bill and Zachary watched the nailbiting game. I was shouting and clapping and Bill said they can’t hear you. Austin is going to the game tomorrow to cheers the BUCS on.
Take care,
Susana
