Laker women’s soccer team blanks Potsdam

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Nikki Liadka (Jr., Liverpool, N.Y.) scored two goals to help the Oswego State women’s soccer team (4-4-0, 1-2-0 SUNYAC) record its first league win of the season after posting a 3-0 decision over Potsdam (2-7-0, 0-2-0 SUNYAC).

The Bears held possession early, taking three shots in a span of three minutes. Bailey Waterbury (Fr., Plattsburgh, N.Y.) changed the tone of the game when her shot was blocked in the ninth minute. In the second half, Oswego State became more aggressive and took more shots. In the 68th minute, one of those shots paid off as Liadka scored her second goal with an assist from Shelly Bateman (Sr., Fulton, N.Y.).  Oswego State sealed the victory with four minutes remaining when Kleine added a breakaway goal on a pass from Waterbury.
