Cortland, N.Y. — Oswego State men’s basketball team’s Kyle Covley has been named the SUNYAC Player of the Week for the week ending November 24, 2013.
Covley helped the Lakers to a perfect 3-0 record on the week with wins over Ithaca College, St. Lawrence University and Hartwick College.
He averaged 17.7 points per game and shot 58.3 percent from 3-point range on the week.
In the Lakers 90-84 overtime win against St. Lawrence on Friday, Covley scored 15 points including a clutch three-pointer with 41 seconds remaining as the shot clock expired to help secure the win.
Covley scored 17 points in the 71-69 win over Hartwick on Sunday, including 5-for-7 shooting from beyond the arc.
The sophomore led all-scorers with 21 points in the 99-73 blowout of the Bombers to open the week on Tuesday night. Covley was 6-for-8 from range in the game, five of which came in the first half.
Oswego will put its winning streak on the line at 8 p.m. on December 6 as Plattsburgh comes to town for White Out Weekend. The contest will also mark the beginning of the Lakers’ SUNYAC schedule.
