OSWEGO – With the winter sports season almost upon us, the Oswego Varsity Hockey team was looking to get a jump on some fundraising efforts to helps support some of its promotional nights that they are looking to hold this year; November 28th Teal Night, (Ovarian Cancer Awareness Night), and First Responder Night December 22, (Honoring First Responders throughout the area).
Over the past few months this year’s returning players gathered firewood through donations to sell at the 2017 Dirt Week held at Oswego Speedway.
The response from individuals and companies that donated either their time or firewood was overwhelming.
We would like to thank the following that made this fundraiser a successful one:
Dave Scott, Mark Donabella, Mike Blazinski, Mr. Jones, Bob Woodworth, Pete Cullinan, Nic Teitsma, John Allen, Ben Miller, Bob Bradshaw, Ken Krash, Bush’s Tree Service, Ontario Orchards, Raby’s Ace, JB Family fire wood, C& R Professional Auto Sales, Occhino Auto Sales, Murray and Sons Roofing, C&B farms.
And, and a big thanks to Brandon Gray, Dirt Week coordinator, for getting the team in and set up at the Oswego Speedway and as well as Guy King from Kings Roll Offs and Great Lakes Fitness.
Both made this fundraiser a fun team bonding experience.
The Oswego High School Boys team is excited about the upcoming 2017-18 season and we hope you can make it to the games!
