Oswego, NY – The Oswego Clearview Squirt hockey team battled against Fulton and Ithaca in a busy weekend on the ice recently, according to Head Coach Eric Koproski.

The team split a pair of home and away games against Fulton (3-6 and 2-1), and earned a tie (2-2) against Ithaca on the road.

In their first game of the weekend at Fulton, Oswego fell behind early 1-0,  before Oswego’s Andrew Noyes put them on the board off an assist from Mason Bricker. The tie game was short lived, however, when Fulton came right back to add another tally at 5:19 of the first period.

Oswego’s Alex Koproski got the scoring started in the second, assisted by teammate Nick Burnett. Fulton then took the lead again at the end of the period to make it 3-2. Jack Stephens added a score for Oswego off assists from Koproski and Burnett early in the third, before Fulton scored three unanswered against Oswego goaltender Jeremy Susino.
Susino had 24 saves in the loss.

Later that day, Oswego traveled to Ithaca to take on a difficult road challenge.
After a scoreless, first period Oswego and Ithaca each tallied two goals in the second, with both Oswego’s scores coming from Koproski. Noyes earned an assist.

Oswego returned to Crisafulli Rink and home ice the following day for a rematch against Fulton.

The Clearview squad jumped out to an early lead when Noyes took an assist from Koproski to make it 1-0 Oswego.  After holding Fulton scoreless throughout the first, the visiting Red Raiders tied up the game early in the second period.

With just minutes remaining in the game, Oswego’s Stepien took a pass in front from Koproski and jammed in what would be the game-winning goal, as Oswego held off Fulton 2-1.

Tyler Wallace captured the win and recorded 21 saves.

“What a weekend of hockey,” said Koproski. “The kids showed their grit throughout the busy schedule and I couldn’t have been more proud of them. Despite the loss to Fulton, they showed how determined they are in every game.”
