
Oswego, NY – The Oswego Clearview Squirt hockey team defeated Oswego J&A Mechanical 7-1 in recent Snowbelt action at Crisafulli Rink in Oswego, according to Clearview Head Coach Eric Koproski.
Oswego improved to 7-4 overall on the season, and 6-3 in the Snowbelt League.
“We are really starting to score on a consistent basis,” said Koproski. “We have scored 24 goals over our last three-game stretch, while our defense and net minding continues to limit opportunities for our opponents.”
After falling behind 1-0 against the J&A Mechanical team, the Clearview squad went on a balanced scoring attack; netting 7 unanswered goals.
Scoring for the Clearview team included: Nick Burnett (3 goals), Alex Koproski (2 goals, 2 assists), Andrew Noyes (2 goals, 1 assist), Jack Stephens (3 assists), Patrick Galvin (2 assists), Spencer Stepien (1 assist), and Jeremy Susino (1 assist). According to Koproski, Oswego’s defensemen Bryson Bush and Lane Phillips were also instrumental in the team’s win.
Oswego goalie Tyler Wallace notched his 7th win of the season and stopped 15 shots in net.
“Our coaches are proud of how the kids are performing in practice, and how that is paying dividends in our games,” added Koproski. “They are working really hard.”
