Oswego Girls’ Volleyball Keeps Rolling

OSWEGO – Updates from Tuesday (Oct. 3) night’s game and this past weekend tournament.

Marcellus tournament

The girls came out strong at the start of the tournament. We finished first in our pool by going 5 and 1 with our only lose coming at the hands of host Marecllus.

We played second seed Fulton in the crossover game winning that game 25-17 with our rivals from down the road.

The championship game was against C-NS who we have played in previous tournaments as well.

We won the first set 25-15 and the second set we struggled to keep our defense tight and lost. The third and final set was a lot of back and forth volleyball and we won the match 15-13 with a huge block to end the match and win the championship of the tournament.

Vs Fulton

Coming into the game we knew needed to play better defense and take care of our serving in order to stay in this match with host Fulton.

Both the first and second set we had no service errors.

The first set we played a lot of back and forth volleyball with both teams exchanging good rallies.

Our serving is what closed out the first set for us.

In between sets we knew we needed to regroup and make serving a focus for the second set.

And we did just that – our serve game got us out to a very quick start in set two and we talked about keeping it going.

Set three was a different story for us – we struggled to keep our serves in play and it cost us that set.

When you play a lot of good back and forth volleyball it tends to come down to the team who makes less errors and Fulton made less errors than we did in the final set of the match.
