Oswego Girls’ Volleyball Tops Fulton

OSWEGO – Update from our last match and tournament over the weekend.

Thursday’s match vs. Fulton:

We have been working on starting fast in matches as we started slow the first two matches of the season.

The girls came out very quick against visiting Fulton. Our serving was spot on as well as our defense.

The second and third set we kept the speed we wanted and never looked back.

We had a lot of girls get stats in this game and when everyone is contributing when they are on the floor it is going to be a good match for us. We need to keep this momentum as we move into our first of two home tournaments this weekend with the annual Buc Booster tournament.

Buc Booster tournament:

We had some good competition visit us in our tournament this weekend. 10 teams in total took the courts and we had a lot of exciting and close matches.

Oswego, FM, and Liverpool had a three-way tie for first place that was determined by point differential which placed FM 1st, Oswego 2nd, and Liverpool 3rd.

The bronze bracket placed Mexico vs. Skaneateles with Skaneateles winning.

The silver bracket had Liverpool vs. Fulton in the semifinal game with Liverpool adavancing to the championship game, the other silver semifinal game had Westhill playing West Genny with West Genny coming out on top.

The silver championship game saw Liverpool vs. West Genny with Liverpool as the silver bracket champs.

The gold division semifinal games had FM vs. Cazenovia with Cazenovia winning and the other semifinal game had host Oswego vs. C-NS with Oswego coming out on top.

In the Gold Championship game Oswego beat Cazenovia out in 2 sets to take the Gold Championship match of the day and Oswego as the overall winner of the tournament.

The girls are back in action next week as we head to auburn for a league matchup and then Saturday we head to Central Square for the annual Central Square tournament.
