The following notice has been posted for Lake Ontario waters:
Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.
Oswego River/Lake Ontario report:
Oswego River report:
The water level has been running between 14,000-17,000cfs for several days. This makes some areas along the river unfishable. Driftboat anglers are working the higher waters but also indicate the water is muddy. Steelhead and brown trout are both hitting on beads, stickbaits, worms, minnows, egg sacs and white bucktail jigs.
Salmon River/Pulaski Area report:

The power company continues to update the water level on a day to day basis. Considering that most of our snow has melted, the river is in good shape. This level may not be your favorite but we do have fish in the river and the weather has been great for this time of year. Monday was another tough day but anglers did report getting into fish in the Lower Fly Fishing Area and Ellis Cove.
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
We only had a few anglers on the water today. The early bite seemed to be pretty steady, but it really slowed up as the day progressed. The water is posted at 750cfs, however with run off it is running closer to 1400cfs on the DSR. Anglers will want to concentrate on the big pools and inside seams.
Oneida Lake report:
Safety remains the priority on the lake at this time of year. The warmer temperatures this week with continue to erode the ice. Please use extreme caution. Lewis Point to Verona Beach has been producing yellow perch and Big Bay is producing blue gills. Just a reminder that walleye season ended on March 15.
Sandy Pond report:

Although there is still some ice on the pond, there are many areas of unsafe ice. With temperatures in the 50s all week, conditions will continue to deteriorate. Just a reminder that northern pike and walleye seasons closed March 15.
Winter Trail Reports:
Cross Country Ski Trails:
According to the Winona Forest Recreation Association:
Trails continue to deteriorate with most of them listed in poor condition at this time. With temperatures in the 50s this week, the snow will be disappearing fast.
According to Hugh Quinn of the Osceola Tug Hill Ski Club:
Overall conditions have not change significantly since the last report. We still have an 8-12 inch base on the trails with spring conditions. Temperatures are expected to be in the 50s this week with clear sunny skies so enjoy it while you can.
Snowmobile Trails:
Square Valley Snowmobile Club, Pulaski/Boylston Snowmobile Club, Mexico Trail Riders Snowmobile Club and Redfield Snowmobile and Recreation Club have all closed their trails due to lack of snow.
