Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.

According to Capt. Troy Creasy of High Adventure Sportfishing Charters:
The water level has dropped to just over 5,000cfs but ice and slush are still a problem on the colder days. Temperatures are struggling to reach 30 degrees in the next few days but there is some snow forecasted for Saturday night and Sunday. Steelhead and brown trout are taking beads, worms, minnows, skein, egg sacs and white bucktail jigs.

Thursday was a nice day with temperatures near 30 degrees.  Fishing pressure picked up a little, but was still light.  We got mixed reports from the anglers we spoke with.  Some did very well, and some groups had a tougher time.  Slush ice was a factor in the lower end of the river Friday morning since temps were near zero over night.  Fishing pressure should pick up for the weekend.
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
The temperature is a bit cool today, but we are enjoying some much needed sunshine. This should help bring an afternoon bite. The slush is burning off the lower end and we are hoping for a good afternoon on the water.
Oneida Lake report:
With more consistent cold temperatures, ice conditions on the lake have improved although they still vary around the lake. Use caution especially in areas near moving water. Reports have been mixed with anglers reporting a few good days but overall things have been rather slow.
Sandy Pond report:

The conditions on the pond are excellent and the ice just keeps getting better. We currently have about 16 inches of ice in many areas. The perch bite is very good on emerald shiners and fathead minnows and the northern pike bite has been decent. Large shiners and sucker minnows are getting their attention. Some anglers are even finding an occasional walleye.

According to the Winona Forest Recreation Association:
Although we have not received significant new snow recently, the trails are in good condition. We will be hosting the Mannsville Quest Sled Dog Competition this weekend.
According to Hugh Quinn of the Osceola Tug Hill Ski Club:
We have received another inch of new snow with conditions remaining about the same on the trails. We have a 14-20 inch base on the trails and tracks are set. Skiing should be very good for the holiday weekend.
Snowmobile Trails:

We’re still grooming the same snow we’ve groomed since 1/18. Snow cover is minimal on the south end with lots of ice, especially corners. North trail has more snow cover but hills and corners are icy. Ride with caution.

Trails are closed.
According to the Pulaski/Boylston Snowmobile Club:
All trails in the Boylston area are open and being groomed regularly and are in good condition. Trail S51 from Little John Road to the Reservoir is open but the lower section doesn’t have enough snow to groom. Trails west of 81 have marginal snow coverage. They are still closed at this time.
According to the Square Valley Snowmobile Club:
Recent trail closure: C-4 closed from Turk Rd. to NYS Rte. 69. The work around should be signed by the weekend and then opened. Otherwise, trails are in fair to poor condition with no recent snowfall.
