Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.

Oswego River report:
The water flow has dropped some running at 6,130cfs as of this morning. There is a week of warmer temperatures coming up with daytime temperatures expected to be in the 30s. This should help with ice along the river and improve conditions for driftboats. Steelhead and browns are taking trout beads, nightcrawlers, wax worms, egg sacs and fathead minnows.
Salmon River/Pulaski Area report:

On Thursday the warm weather was greatly appreciated and we had sunshine most of the day along with the temperature reaching into the 30’s in the afternoon. With the mild weather the fishing pressure increased but the action reportedly was slow. Most anglers fished the upper end of the river in Altmar and enjoyed being on the water. The warming trend has started and anglers should take advantage of the mild weather while it lasts.
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
We are going to enjoy some mild weather for the next few days. This has already cleared up the slush and made most of the river fishable again. The DSR is slush free and fishable from the flats upstream. Any shelf ice in the bigger pools should break up as the weather warms. This weekend should be very good throughout the entire river.
Oneida Lake report:
Reports from the area indicate that there are unsafe ice conditions in some places. The southern shore with areas such as Sylvan Beach and Lakeport have more ice. The northern shore seems to be less frozen and daytime temperatures are expected to be above freezing for several days. Check the ice thickness every couple of steps if you do venture out and use extreme caution.
Sandy Pond report:
According to Dave Wood of Woody’s Tackle:
We currently have over a foot of ice in some areas on the pond. It is a bit sloppy on the ice with the snow we had last week and that is making it tough for four-wheeling. The perch bite has been good on emerald shiners and fathead minnows; pike are responding to large shiners and sucker minnows and jigs tipped with spikes are working for panfish.

Cross Country Ski Trails:
According to Winona Forest Recreation Association:
Grooming has taken place on most of the trails in the last couple of days. Conditions are very good with an 8-10 inch base of medium density snow.
According to Hugh Quinn of the Osceola Tug Hill Ski Club:
We have very good conditions on the trails with a 15-20 inch base. The new groomer is working out very nicely. We have graded trails and set tracks on the entire system.
Snowmobile Trails:
According to the Mexico Trail Riders:
We got another two inches of snow on Tuesday but that doesn’t really help much. We need a foot or so at this point to get us back in shape. The trails are ok but there isn’t much snow for the groomers to groom without turning up the dirt.
According to the Square Valley Snowmobile Club:
The trails are reportedly in fair to good condition. There are some water spots so use caution as temperatures are going to be in the 30s for several days.
According to the Winona Forest Recreation Association:
Most trails are in good condition. Hessle, Bronze, Brown and Marsh trails were groomed on Tuesday and are in very good condition.
