Oswego River report:
According to Larry Muroski of Larry’s Oswego Salmon Shop:
Conditions on the river have not changed. There is still high water running at 15,600cfs this afternoon. This makes most of the river unaccessible. We have little to no precipitation in the forecast for the next few days so hopefully we will begin to see some improvement.
Lake Ontario report:
According to Capt. Kevin Davis of Catch the Drift Fishing Charters:
We had some decent fishing over the weekend. Friday and Saturday we took some lake trout and a few steelhead. On Sunday we began to see some kings moving in with four nice ones landed.
According to Capt. Tom Burke of Cold Steel Fishing Charters:
So far the fishing season on Lake Ontario can be described as big fish and mixed up! Constant wind from many directions have kept our fish on the move and scattered. However the mixed bag we have been catching and results of early tournaments and derbies on the lake along with the bait we have been seeing has shown that there has been and will be BIG fish this year.
Salmon River report:
The river is fairly quiet this time of year. The water flow is running at 335cfs through this evening.
Port Ontario report:
The eastern end of the lake has been producing a few brown trout. The lake trout bite continues to be good and anglers are finding a few salmon moving in to the deeper water. A more consistent weather pattern seems to be developing for the next few days so enjoy the fishing.
Oneida Lake report:
The fishing on the lake continues to be decent. The walleye bite has been consistent in 10-20 feet of water with some success being reported in deeper water. Bucktail jigs tipped with a worm or blade baits have been working well. Shore anglers are taking some walleye with stickbaits or jigs just before or after dark. The black bass season opened on Saturday with some activity near shore and along the weedbeds.
Sandy Pond report:
Anglers are finding a decent walleye and northern pike bite on the pond. There has been some bluegill and very spotty perch activity. Minnows, worms and jigs remain the suggested bait.
