The following notice has been posted for Lake Ontario waters:
Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.
The following notice has been posted for the Oswego River:
Due to the construction of the NYS Rte. 104 bridge, certain areas of the Oswego River will be restricted to boat traffic. Please watch for signs and buoys.

There are a few salmon throughout the river and at the dam and the powerhouse. The big news is the trout fishing which is very good. There are browns, steelhead and rainbows throughout the river on both sides. Suggested baits are estaz egg pattern flies, egg sacs and more egg sacs, pink worms, and nightcrawlers. The under the float system with egg sacs is working especially well. The water flow is running at 4,600cfs as of this morning.

Salmon River/Pulaski area report:
According to Douglaston Salmon Run:
Yesterday fished a bit slower than the two previous days. However most anglers we spoke with still had plenty of action on browns and steelhead. I even spoke to a few folks that landed nice green kings. Egg pattern flies and sacs still seem to be the choice of most anglers on the run. The water flow will be running at 335cfs through Sunday.
According to Dave Wood of Woody’s Tackle:
The steelhead fishing in the lower end of the river is excellent. This section is loaded with steelhead and brown trout. Fishing by boat or canoe is really the best but there are anglers shore fishing. These fish will be trickling up through the rest of the river. If you are looking for salmon, fish the top part of the river.
Oneida Lake Report:
According to Capt. Troy Creasy of High Adventure Sportfishing:
The water temperature is now 56 degrees and the gizzard shad are moving in along the shore. The bait seem to be going where the wind has been blowing. Anglers are finding walleyes along the shore fishing with waders or in boats. Stickbaits and the nitro minnow in blue/silver and black/silver are working well. Yellow perch can be found in 30-40 feet of water using fathead minnows fished along the bottom.
Sandy Pond Report:
We have had no reports from the Sandy Pond area. With the cooler temperatures, you may find some walleye activity with nightcrawlers on worm harnesses and jigs tipped with worms being good choices of bait. Otherwise, things are fairly quiet here.
