Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.
The following notice has been posted for the Oswego River:
Due to the construction of the NYS Rte. 104 bridge, certain areas of the Oswego River will be restricted to boat traffic. Please watch for signs and buoys.

Heavy rain, wind and colder temperatures are hitting the area today. The water flow has been running between 8,000-9,000cfs and will likely go higher with the added precipitation. Conditions are expected to quiet down by Thursday and good trout fishing is anticipated. Browns, steelhead and rainbows have been taking estaz egg pattern flies, egg sacs and more egg sacs, pink worms and nightcrawlers. The under the float system with egg sacs is working especially well.

Salmon River/Pulaski area report:

The water did go up over 1000 cfs last night. This will make fishing on the run tough due to leaves. However, the big push of water along with the high winds should clear the river of debris. These conditions should also bring in another big wave of fresh steelies! Look for very good action Thursday through the weekend.
According to Whitaker’s Sport Shop & Motel:
After heavy rain showers on Saturday and again today, the river has significant runoff and anglers have reported the lower end is off color with plenty of leaves. Most of the anglers we spoke with reported having a slow day Monday and anglers who had the most action were in the upper end of the river. The most productive techniques have been fly fishing with egg patterns and a strike indicator, fly fishing on the swing with weighted flies or sinking leaders, bottom bouncing or float fishing with egg sacs. This time of year leaves are always a factor, so selecting patterns that don’t look like leaves in terms of color is always helpful. Heavy rains and wind are hitting the area today but conditions are expected to improve by Thursday.
Oneida Lake Report:

Rain, wind and colder temperatures are the story for today. Conditions are expected to improve by Thursday with sun and cool temperatures for the weekend. Anglers have been finding walleyes along the shore with stickbaits and the nitro minnow in blue/silver and black/silver working well. Yellow perch have been taking fathead minnows in 30-40 ft. of water.
Sandy Pond Report:
We have had no reports from the Sandy Pond area. With the cooler temperatures, you may find some walleye activity with nightcrawlers on worm harnesses and jigs tipped with worms being good choices of bait. Otherwise, things are fairly quiet here.
