OSWEGO — The Oz Roller Girls invite the community to attend an Open House at 7 p.m. March 25 to learn more about the fast-growing, fast-moving sport and its local league.

Attendees can meet members of the Oz Roller Girls, see roller derby demonstrations, hear about the fitness benefits of participating and ask questions about the sport or the league.
The 7 p.m. event, free and open to the public, will take place in the OzZone, the former Real Deals store, in Oswego’s Midtown Plaza.
In addition, visitors interested in getting involved can learn more about how to be part of roller derby in any number of roles, including skaters, referees, non-skating officials and other volunteer positions.
The Oz Roller Girls recently topped the Kingston Derby Girls’ Skateful Dead squad 200-124 in the league’s first international competition.
Oz raised its record to 2-0 in its second season and also reeled off its ninth consecutive victory.
The league’s next home bout, Cinco de Mayhem, will feature a rematch with the Albany All-Stars A Team on May 5, in Crisafulli Rink.
