OSWEGO, NY – In a repeat of last year’s NAPA Super DIRT Week 358 Modified Time Trials, Watertown, NY, native Tim Fuller grabbed the pole for Saturday’s Great Outdoors RV 150 Small-Block Feature.
Last year, Fuller was the only driver to crack the 22-second bracket with a pole-earning lap time of 22.829 seconds. This year, he beat that lap time at 22.056 seconds.
“Time trialing well here is everything,” said Fuller. “My Big-Block is not that fast, but I knew my Small-Block was, and we got something good out of the day here.”
Big-Block pole-sitter Matt Sheppard secured the second spot, beside Fuller, with a lap of 23.008 seconds.
“We were hoping we would be pretty decent and we ran a little bit better than we thought,” said Sheppard. “We’re happy with it.”
Close behind the Super DIRT Week duo were Matt Williamson, Peter Britton, Pat Ward, and Erick Rudolph – all securing their spots in Saturday’s events.
The DIRTcar 358 Modifieds will get some more track time tomorrow (Oct. 6) with another practice session at 2:50 p.m. before Camping World’s Friday Night Lights Twin 25s at 6:55 p.m.
