OSWEGO – Officials at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego and Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton today announced that contract agreements have been reached with Service Employees International Union (SEIU 1199) Upstate. SEIU 1199 represents service and maintenance employees at both of the affiliate organizations, St. Luke and Michaud.
“We are pleased that the hard work of all the parties involved in negotiations resulted in an agreement,” said Greg Osetek, Director of Community Relations at St. Luke. “To continue to deliver the quality healthcare that we are known for in our community, we need to be able to operate our affiliate organizations in a fiscally responsible manner. We believe these agreements allow us to accomplish this in a fair and equitable way with our hard-working employees.”
The new three-year deals were reached after numerous negotiating sessions over the past five months aimed at finalizing a contract for employees in the collective bargaining units. The previous agreements expired October 19th.
