State Police arrest Fulton Man for attempting to lure a minor over facebook

Fulton, NY – The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation based out of the Fulton Barracks, in conjunction with the New York State Computer Crimes Unit have arrested Neal J. Hart, 11/09/80, 44 West Fifth Street South, Fulton, after a two-week-long investigation.

Hart has been charged with the following:
Attempted Criminal Sex Act 3rd degree (E Felony)
Attempted Diseminating Indecent Material to a Minor (A Misdemeanor)
Tampering with Physical Evidence (E Felony)

State Police Investigators were made aware of a subject on facebook with a username of “Ben Smith,” portraying himself as a 29-year-old male from the Fulton area.

This subject, later identified as Neal J. Hart, was utilizing facebook to coerce a 14-year-old male to meet in person for sexual acts in exchange for money.

On 09/21/12 at approximately 4:15 p.m.Hart arranged to meet with this 14-year-old in the Town of Granby.

Hart was greeted instead by State Police Investigators at the arranged meeting place, and subsequently arrested.

Hart was arraigned in the Town of Granby Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility on $5000 cash / $10,000 bond.
