SUNY Oswego Choir Performance Offers Something For Everyone

To The Editor:

I hope this letter finds you in good health!

My name is Krista Vann and I am a sophomore at SUNY Oswego, double majoring in psychology and music.

I was born in Oswego and raised in Fulton and chose SUNY Oswego because of the many opportunities it had to offer me success in my future.

In my time here at SUNY Oswego, I have grown to love the Music Department and have become very involved with it.

I am president of the Women’s College Choir here at SUNY Oswego and am writing to inform you of a concert that the choirs here at SUNY Oswego will be holding on April 25 that I think people will truly enjoy.

On April 25, the Women’s Choir, Men’s Choir, and State Singers, directed by Dr. Mihoko Tsutsumi, will be holding a free concert that is open to the public.

Our Spring Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom on the SUNY Oswego Campus.

This concert is sure to impress with various styles of music from Renaissance Polyphony to musical numbers.

The concert also includes performances of folk songs in various languages, such as English, French, African, Brazilian, and Venezuelan.

With performances of John Lennon’s “All You Need is Love,” spiritual music and even show tunes from the musical West Side Story, there is surely something for everyone to enjoy in our program.

This concert is a non-ticketed event, so people can simply show up ready for an evening of wonderful performances.

Dr. Tsutsumi rehearses with each of these choirs two to three times a week throughout the semester.

Filled with many ambitious and dedicated students, the program for the Spring Concert is sure to impress.

Thank you so much for your time.

If you have any questions about this event or the choirs here at SUNY Oswego, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Best regards,

Krista Vann, Class of 2017
