OSWEGO — The SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center’s fall American Management Association professional certificate series is under way. These world-famous courses are designed to build or enhance professional knowledge, skills and leadership.
Interested individuals may enroll in the courses, which are recognized benchmarks of professional achievement, on a certificate or non-certificate basis. All courses carry continuing education units (CEUs) that may be applied to satisfy ongoing professional requirements.
“Providing these courses at the SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center allows us to assist local organizations by offering excellent training in a location that’s close to home,” SUNY Oswego Dean of Extended Learning Yvonne Petrella said. “With local training, employers can continue to improve their organizations and retain employees without having to pay for travel expenses for out-of-town programs.”
Upcoming courses include:
– “How to Manage Your Priorities” meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 9, 16, 30 and Dec. 7 and 14
– “A Manager’s Guide to Hiring, Firing and Employee Rights” meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 12 and 19
The course fee of $319 includes tuition, books and materials. The courses can be applied to earn a certificate in leadership and management or a certificate in human resources management. Each certificate program requires participants to complete four core courses and two electives.
