OSWEGO, NY – NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week took on a new twist for its 45th edition, sliding inside the steel confines of Oswego Speedway, featuring the Super DIRTcar Series Bud Light 200. This historic first outing at the ‘Steel Palace’ was covered in-depth by Suzuki presents Speed Sport and will air on national television Thanksgiving night on MAVTV, beginning at 7 p.m.
Full coverage of the Super DIRTcar Series Bud Light 200 will be presented on Suzuki presents Speed Sport on MAVTV in a special two-hour format, with the first half of the event airing from 7-8 p.m., followed by the second half from 8-9 p.m.
The entire broadcast will then re-air from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Veteran motorsports broadcasters Ralph Sheheen and Shane Andrews will present the 200-lap big-block modified crown jewel from the booth while infield analysts Rich Vleck and Dan Kapuscinski will cover the action from pit road.
The Bud Light 200 broadcast for the Super DIRTcar Series is just the first in a host of programming to air on Suzuki presents Speed Sport on MAVTV geared around the action at NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLV and Oswego Speedway.
The coverage of Super DIRT Week comes on the heels of a full season of Oswego Speedway coverage, featuring everything from the ISMA Supermodifieds and Oswego’s weekly Novelis Supermodified series, to Budweiser International Classic Weekend coverage including the Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds as well as the Bud Light SBS Classic 75 for the Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super Series.
“We’re very fortunate at Oswego to have such great partners in Speed Sport, Thomas Video Productions, as well as DIRTcar,” said Oswego Speedway co-owner, John Torrese. “Speed Sport has placed a great amount of emphasis on short track racing coverage and we couldn’t be happier to play a major part in that coverage.”
The Super DIRTcar Series Bud Light 200 will mark the seventh Oswego Speedway event this season to be featured on Suzuki presents Speed Sport on MAVTV, with four more broadcasts still to be featured including the 358-Modified, Sportsman Modified, and Pro Stock championships from Super DIRT Week as well as the Race of Champions Modified 250 from Race of Champions Weekend.
The unprecedented total of eleven events covered nationally is all a part of a five plus year resurgence at the lakeside Oswego oval, which now sees the facility used as both an asphalt and dirt racing venue.
Planning is in the final stages for Oswego Speedway’s full 2017 season schedule which will be available in the coming weeks.
