The festival was originally conceived as a showcase for visual artists to have a venue to display and sell their work on the grounds surrounding Fort Ontario State Historic Site. The idea has since blossomed into a full-fledged community festival encompassing many different media with interesting things to do for the whole family.
Here’s a pretty picture. Phillip Moore of Fulton took this photo, which he calls “Quiet”. It was good enough to take Best in Show honors at the Art Association of Oswego’s annual Members’ Exhibition. For that, he’ll be able to hold a solo show next year in the Civic Arts Center. Read the rest of the story to see who won in other categories.
Students began at 9 am and were fully engaged in Pottery, Painting and Collage, Imagination Express, African Dance and Improvisational Theater within minutes. KK’s excellent teaching staff had their student’s full attention and huge smiles all morning.
Farnham Family Services rocked the arts recently at its annual fundraising event at the American Foundry in Oswego. An estimated $15,000 was raised at the annual benefit that included five musicians/bands, food and a silent art auction.
Farnham Unplugged: Rock The Arts, a music and art benefit for Farnham Family Services will be held Thursday, at 6 p.m. at the American Foundry.
