Katrina Debaun, a member of the Oswego High School “Class of 2011” was the latest recipient of the “Possibilities Scholarship” from SUNY Oswego.
The award was created several years ago to recognize businesses and community organizations that do “great things” for Oswego’s students. It celebrates and honors those who have made significant contributions to the betterment of the district and its children.
Dakota Ingersoll received the Laurie Godfrey Memorial Award for Creative Writing at the annual Frederick Leighton award’s assembly.
Emily Glenn, a kindergarten student at the Frederick Leighton Elementary School, recently earned a second place award from the Oswego Reading Council in their annual writing contest. Emily wrote about “a very special person in her life”…her father.
The Oswego City School District Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools recently recognized Newspaper in Education award winners.
The sixth graders at the Fitzhugh Park Elementary school answered one question a day during Black History Month. The students earning the most points were recipients of gift cards from river’s end bookstore.
The recipient who is selected must be an Oswego County community member who lives or works in the county who has championed the cause of autism in their community.
Program Services Coordinator for Oswego Opportunities’ Senior Services Department, Trinity Engle presented Hannibal Senior Dining and Activity Center Manager, Rosemary Kellogg with the OCO Outstanding Employee Award.
