The Oswego school board member who was removed from the board for misconduct a few years ago says he welcomes the challenge. Hoefer told his colleagues, “Bring it on,†as he plans to use this as a springboard to do battle with the State Commissioner of Education over things such as tenure.
Oswego school board member Fran Hoefer went to to Middletown to defend Middletown school board member Roy Paul who is in danger of being kicked off the board for misconduct. However, Hoefer was removed form the meeting by police and not allowed to comment because he isn’t a taxpayer in that district.
The Oswego School Board spent considerable time Tuesday night debating a confidentiality resolution. However, the board decided to withdraw the resolution instead of acting on it. Board member Fran Hoefer said he wanted the resolution to be approved, so he could challenge it in court.
The board member has released confidential contract information to the public, according to the Association of Administrative Personnel. The situation is similiar to that which got him removed from the board in June of 2004.
Getting back to some fundamental principles could save the Oswego City School District approximately $10 million, a school board member said Tuesday night.
