Fulton Schools Getting Lawyers Involved As Errors May Force Changes To Construction Project

The Fulton City School District is getting its lawyers involved to see if it can get back some of the money lost to errors in its district-wide construction project.

Superintendent Bill Lynch revealed this week that he has asked for legal opinions as members of the Board of Education expressed dissatisfaction with the cost of the mistakes and the problems those mistakes have caused.

Fulton Voters Approve New Construction Project

Voters said yes Wednesday to new roofs, boilers, security and wiring in the Fulton City School District.

They approved two construction propositions by votes of 211-128 and 209-130.

“Obviously, we’re very pleased with the vote,” said Superintendent of Schools Bill Lynch. “This is a great opportunity for the community and the kids to continue to modernize our facilities.”

Fulton Officials See The Light, Look To Change Bulbs To Save Tax Dollars

<p>One of the city of Fulton's thousands of street lights.</p>Fulton city officials are hoping modern technology lets them cut the city’s utility bill.

Mayor Ron Woodward said the city is studying whether LED-style lights can be used in some of the city’s street lights. LED lights burn a lot less energy and would save the city money on its National Grid utility bill.
