Fulton Falls In Battle Of Unbeaten, State-Ranked Football Powers

Saturday, undefeated and state ranked Fulton and New Hartford traveled to Central Square in what could be a Class A football playoff preview. New Hartford’s Anthony Acevedo and four Fulton turnovers were too much for the Red Raiders to overcome as Fulton fell 49-26. New Hartford turned three of four Fulton turnovers into touchdowns. “Today was the first week we made a lot of mistakes,” said Fulton head coach Mike Conners.

Fulton Hopes To Hold Line On Taxes In 2010 Budget Despite Big Pension Boost

Mayor Ron Woodward said the city was notified recently that its contribution to retirements for most of its union employees will increase by $310,000 next year.  He estimates that when the retirements of all employees are added in, the final number will be around $365,000.

That’s a big jump in an $18 million budget.

Century Marathon And Half Marathon Set Oct. 11 In Fulton

The Fulton YMCA will offer the only marathon and ½ marathon events in Oswego County on Oct. 11. The Century Marathon and Half Marathon will start at Bull Head Point at 7 a.m. New this year is a wheelchair category for both the half and full marathon. The race course has been certified, meaning it is an official Boston Marathon qualifying course.
