OSWEGO – Community members caring for those with Alzheimer’s are invited to attend a free three-part program to be held December 3, 10 and 17 at 4 p.m. at The Manor at Seneca Hill in the ground floor conference room.
This series is designed to provide caregivers with the knowledge, tools and strategies needed to cope with a diagnosis of Alzheimers or related dementia.
Each session is about 90 minutes long.
Organizers recommend that participants attend all three sessions.
Leading the sessions will be Melinda Sobrado, an associate program director, from the Central New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Sobrado will discuss the symptoms associated with mid-stage Alzheimers disease, communication issues, providing personal care, behavior changes, medication management, care options, home safety, driving and wandering.
Registration is required and can be arranged by calling 596-4016 ext. 100.
Immediately following the December 17 program, The Manor will hold its Alzheimer’s support group, which is open to the public.
