Troopers Investigate Crash in Town of Hastings

Mackenzie L. Fletcher has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Speeding, Failure to use designated lane and Not Wearing A Seat Belt

HASTINGS – State Police in Hastings are investigating a one-car crash that occurred at approximately 10 a.m. today (Jan. 27) on County Route 37 in the town of Hastings.

The investigation revealed a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle, operated by Mackenzie L. Fletcher, 27, from Long Point Road in Brewerton, was traveling east on CR 37 when she lost control on a curve, struck a guardrail and overturned landing in the yard, located at 667 County Route 37, just 15 feet from the creek.

Fletcher was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and was listed in stable condition, accordong to troopers.

The investigation is continuing, charges are pending against Fletcher.

Troopers also noted a road sign, which was placed and dedicated in 2013 in honor of fallen State Trooper Amanda Anna, was struck and demolished during the crash.
