Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash in Mexico

PULASKI, NY – State Police in Pulaski are investigating a one-car fatal crash that occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. today (May 8) on State Route 69 in the town of Mexico.

The investigation has revealed a 2012 Ford F-250 pickup truck, operated by Casey C. Billings, 29, from Parish, NY, was traveling southbound on State Route 69 when he failed to negotiate a left curve.

Billings traveled off the west shoulder, traversed a large ditch, striking two utility pole guard wires then two trees, troopers said.

The vehicle then continued southbound coming to rest in the yard at 4297 State Route 69.

Billings was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and is listed in critical condition.

A passenger, identified as Christopher J. Billings, 41, also from Parish, was transported to Oswego Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Initial investigation has determined apparent alcohol consumption as potential factor in accident, according to troopers.

The investigation is continuing.
