Fulton Group Charged With Hate Crime

FULTON, NY – Fulton Police today announced the arrests of the following people:
• Angelo L. Colon Jr., 21, of 111 W. Broadway Apt. 2, Fulton, NY
• Jordan L. Alvarado, 20, of 822 Oneida St. Apt 1, Fulton, NY
• Stephen M. Hagan, 24, of 30 Best Drive Fulton, NY
• Joshua M. Carpenter, 23, of 8 Airport Road Bldg 8 Apt 2, Fulton, NY
• Dominic D. Diaz, 16, of 212 W. Third St. S., Fulton, NY

After an investigation by the Fulton Police Department the above listed parties were charged with the following crimes:

Assault 2nd as a Hate Crime, Class C Felony
Menacing 2nd as a Hate Crime, Class E Felony
Conspiracy 4th , Class E Felony

The listed individuals are accused of engaging in a physical fight with the victim.

During the altercation, the victim was repeatedly kicked, punched and struck with a board causing substantial pain and bruising, according to police.

The investigation revealed that the assault was unprovoked and during the course of the assault the individuals did repeatedly refer to the victim using racial slurs.

Alvarado, Hagan, Carpenter, and Diaz were arraigned by Fulton City Court Judge Hawthorne following their arrests and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash or $20,000 secure bond.

As of this writing, Colon is being held awaiting arraignment.

The investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone with any information to contact the City of Fulton Police Department at 598-4504.
